DLNA server (Samsung PC Share manager) and Codec's

I've recently purchased a new Samsung TV and been viewing content from both a USB stick and via DLNA. The issue I have found is that more formats are supported via the USB stick than via DLNA.

I take it this is down to the limited number of codec's available on the DLNA server
(Samsung PC Share manager)?

If so:

Is there any way to add additional codec's to the server?
Is there a new version of the server soon to be available to support all the formats the TV can support?
Is there a better DLNA server which can be recommended?

http://www.serviio.org/ Is a better option than samsungs solution in my opinion. As supported formats go, that is down to the mediaplayer in the TV. As to why USB is better supported, I don't know. Do you have the latest version of firmware for your TV?

I'm looking at serviio

The second part of you reply is what i am asking. The TV (fully patched) and has better codecs support than the samsung PC share manager. I believe that there are missing codecs from the samsung pc share manager, can any one confirm this and when updaes will be available or work around to add additional codecs

And not meaning to upset anyone, the responses so far tell us these things are not like PCs. That is, no way to install codecs.

This is why many look at other DLNA servers like servio and Tversity.
